Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing Development Corporation (TAHDCO) is a Public Sector Undertaking of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu under the Department of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare.

 

Founded in 1974, initially for construction of houses for SCs and STs TAHDCO is now the Chief Development Agency of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu for implementing economic development schemes for the welfare of SCs and STs.

 

In the year 2006-07, 2,37,440 SC/ST beneficiaries have been given development scheme assistance to the tune of Rs.188.77 Crores and undertaken construction works to the tune of Rs.26.71 Crores.

TAHDCO has a total staff strength of 524 employees, which includes 100 engineers. Development schemes are implemented through the District Manager’s offices located in all the 30 district head quarters and Construction works are undertaken by the Executive Engineer’s office located at 8 places.

Financial assistance in the form of  TAHDCO subsidy and Bank loan, for starting self employment ventures   for SCs & STs youth.
